Celebrate Christmas With Us

Christmas Eve Services
10am & 4pm
In-person & Online

WHAT TO EXPECT

If attending in person, upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by our team who are here to help make you feel at home. If you have any questions, look for an individual wearing a “How May I Serve You” badge. Both of our services will be live-streamed and will include passing of candlelight.

10am | Sunday Morning Service
The service will last approximately an hour. It will include familiar Christmas carols, readings from the Bible, and a sermon lasting about 15-20 min. The music will be led by a full team of people and be more upbeat. Kids will be invited to an environment designed just for them during the sermon. At the conclusion of the service, we will sing Silent Night and pass candlelight.

4pm | ‘Twas the Night of First Christmas
This Christmas experience will last approximately an hour and will invite you into the Christmas story with a resetting of a familiar poem. It will also include familiar Christmas carols, readings from the Bible, and a sermon lasting about 15-20 min. There will also be activity bags for kids designed specifically for the time during the message. At the conclusion of the service, we will sing Silent Night and pass candlelight.

If you’ll be participating from home, we encourage you to gather candles to follow along in the service with us.

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

At Newport, we have a high value of worshipping together as a whole body and that includes our kids and our youth. All ages are invited to participate in either of our services; they have been specifically designed with kids in mind. There will be activity bags for our younger guests at both services. We have worked hard at creating a worship experience that is engaging for all generations and want you to be able to worship as a family.

On Sundays other than Christmas Eve, we have an environment especially for kids in preschool up to 5th grade during the sermon.

HOW SHOULD I DRESS?

We want you to be comfortable and come just as you are. On Christmas Eve, many people decide to dress up a bit to take pictures with friends and family.

OUR CHRISTMAS PROJECT

KidREACH & Vision House
Giving Trees

During the Advent season (the 4 weeks leading up to Christmas), we will have two giving trees setup in the lobby of the church. If you would like to participate, but are unable to pick up a tag at the building, visit the websites of either of these vital organizations and donate online.

KidREACH Tutoring
To serve students with the greatest need, the KidREACH program receives referrals from the local elementary school, interviews interested parents, and carefully matches them with our volunteer tutors. We will be providing two $25 gift cards for each child in our KidREACH families.

Vision House
Vision House is a Christian agency that provides a transitional home for mothers and children who have been homeless.  We are supporting our partner organization with grocery, drug store or gas cards and also Walmart, Target or Fred Meyer cards to enable the Moms to buy gifts for their children.

INVITE A FRIEND

Christmas is a time when people are especially looking for ways to connect in community, to feel a sense of belonging and hope. We want to encourage you to invite those you love, your neighbors, friends, and family, to join you in celebrating Christmas together. We have physical invite cards available at the church building as well as the same shareable graphics below to compliment your personal invitations.  We trust that the Spirit of God is already at work in the lives of those you care about and we look forward to welcoming them with you!
